Stephenson Harwood advises Creadev on Nous Epiceries Anti-Gaspi investment
Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has advised Creadev, an evergreen investment company backed by the Mulliez family, on its minority stake investment in Nous Epiceries Anti-Gaspi, a French network of stores that fight food waste.
Based in Paris, with offices in New York, Shanghai, Singapore and Nairobi, Creadev has developed long-term partnerships with entrepreneurs, who help facilitate access to essential goods & services such as healthcare, sustainable consumption and responsible food. Since its launch in 2002, the company has invested more than €2 billion in venture capital and growth capital firms, as well as in buyout operations.
Nous Epiceries Anti-Gaspi is a spin-off of Phenix, a French start-up and Europe's leading anti-waste company. It has been marketing food products rejected by retailers, or under-valued because they don't meet the standards of conventional distribution channels, for the past five years. Two fundraisings of €8 million in 2020 and 2022 have enabled Nous Epiceries Anti-Gaspi to accelerate the development of its store network, expand its e-commerce offering and develop its distribution brand.
"Our Paris M&A team has advised Creadev on a series of transactions, and this latest deal further demonstrates our long-standing expertise in, and experience of, private capital & funds – one of the firm's core areas of focus," said Guillaume Briant, partner, Stephenson Harwood.
The Stephenson Harwood team was led by M&A and private equity partner Guillaume Briant, who was supported by associate Ali Hilass.
