Stephenson Harwood advises on social impact investments in Big Issue Fund
Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has advised Big Society Capital and The Archbishops' Council in relation to their investments in Big Issue Invest Fund IV.
Big Society Capital is the UK's leading social impact-led investor, whose mission is to grow the amount of money invested in tackling social issues and inequalities in the UK.
The Archbishops' Council is a charitable arm of The Church of England. In 2020, it set up a social impact investment programme to deploy capital to support projects that share the Church's Christian values and benefit society.
Big Issue Invest Fund IV is a social impact debt fund that is managed by The Big Issue Group. The fund will offer secured loans and will target borrowers creating an impact in the care, housing, and social infrastructure sectors.
The Stephenson Harwood team was led by funds partner Nick Horton, who was supported by associate Kim Owens.
